Collective efforts needs for raising awareness and promoting
greater understanding regarding the fulfillment of needs of the disabled.
World Disabled Day was observed throughout the world as an annual feature and Pakistan stands with the international community on this day with the theme of ‘Realizing the Millennium Development Goals for All: Empowerment of persons with Disabilities and their Communities around the World’.
The special children of Special Education Center here Thursday presented colorful programmes to mark the International day for the persons with disabilities being celebrated across the world. To show solidarity with disabled children and persons, the event was organized by the Ministry of Social Welfare and Special Education with the pledge to provide equal opportunities to the persons with disabilities. Special children presented their innovative items including national songs, tableau highlighting social issues and other items regarding the life of disabled persons in a society.
Efforts to achieve global development targets must include improving living standards and quality of life for everyone, including the world’s 800 million people with disabilities, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Thursday, marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. “Persons with disabilities encounter many disadvantages,” he said in a message for the Day, noting that they are often among society’s poorest and most excluded.
no one can't do every thing alone, but at least, we can make a little change in their lives, which is a big reward for Us. The problems, which need to be resolved wholly, could only be possible, if the societies will join their hands together.
