Mobile SIM information campaign is in full swing


Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has developed a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) information system to address associated risks on security and to ensure subscription regulations in cellular sector.
The efforts made by PTA to solve the problem of incorrect data of mobile uses and unauthorized SIMs has brought fruitful results. PTA Punjab Zone Director Kamran Khan Gandapur told media during his surprise visit to customers service centres (CSCs) of mobile phone operators including Mobilink, Warid, Telenor, Ufone and Zong. He said, since the launch of this service PTA has received on its system, more than 2.96 million requests of mobile subscribers, seeking their SIM information data through SMS and about 860,000 through web-link available at PTA web site.
