COAS message to Mehsud tribe


Chief of Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani has said that the aim of the current offensive in South Waziristan is to free the Mehsud Tribe from the clutches of the barbaric and terrorists elements, who have destroyed the peace in the area.

In his message to the Mehsud Tribe the army chief said that there is no doubt that all our tribesmen including the Mehsud Tribe are loyal to Pakistan and have always worked selflessly as unpaid soldiers for the defense of the country.

The aim of the Rah-e-Nijat operation is not to target the honorable and the patriotic Mehsud tribe but it is to free the loyal tribesmen from the clutches of the barbaric and terrorist elements who have destroyed the peace of the area.

He said that the target of the operation are foreign terrorists such as Uzbeks, Arabs and local terrorists.

He said that the Pakistan army aim is to provide the Mehsud tribe an environment of peace and harmony.

The COAS said that he is optimistic that the Mehsud tribe would side with the Pakistan army and would stand shoulder to shoulder to fight against the tyrants for their complete elimination from our soil & our national flag flies on the soil of the patriotic Mehsud tribe with its full respect and dignity.

The message of the COAS has been sent to the Mehsud tribe both in Pashto and Urdu language. The COAS concluded his message with Pakistan Zindabad Pak Army Paindabad.

People of Pakistan has appreciated the move of Chief of Army Staff, for writing a letter addressed to tribal people. People of South Waziristan were terrorized by militants while the letter written by COAS to the tribal people will give them courage and an opportunity to stand against terrorist and evacuate the area.
