Who will take the action!! Any idea?

These two who are a part of law and regulatory system are themselves breaking the law without any hezitation. This picture has been taken on the April 2010 and you can see the Applied For Number plate (APF-2009) with police colours. I was thinking if these two Law keepers could not implement the law over themselves than how will they make the common men to implement it and do they have power to take action against common men?

Is there any one to take notice. I wish some day some authority draw their attention towards such things and direct them as they should be. The system don't need to change but the need is to change the people who are making the system.

Former Pakistan test captain Ramiz Raja said the national team needed certain direction on discipline, but felt barring players from international competition was extreme. Our main problem was discipline, but barring players, I am not sure, it doesn't look nice to just end the international careers of such talented players."

This is the first time in Pakistan cricket history that the Board has taken such strong disciplinary action against so many players at one time. Why was action not taken earlier against these players? why did the board keep quiet for so long when the team was on tour? I think the PCB should have fined both Yousuf and Younis like they did to the others and set an example for other players, but banning them is a bit harsh to me.

NWFP cultural Festival 29-31 Jan 2010 .

Three day cultural festival aimed to promote the culture and tourism of the northwest frontier province of Pakistan concluded Monday at the Lok Virsa museum in Islamabad. This is for the first time that an exclusive event to depict the culture and tourism of the NWFP has been organised in the capital.

The festival has drawn a large number of visitors over the weekend to Lok Virsa museum, one of the best platform to promote the Pakistani heritage in peaceful environment, to enjoy the event showcasing the frontier culture with performance, live music and photographic exhibition.

A Group of Kalash Women, attired in beautiful traditional costumes, was the main attraction of the event. Other popular dances included Khattak dance with swords by 20-member group and Mehsud dance with guns by 20-member group.

Handicrafts stalls including marble furniture, fireplaces, Swati embroidery, Hazara embroidery known as Phulkari, Swati shawls, gemstones, wooden furniture, Peshawari chappal, metal work, doll making, lacquer work from DI Khan and folk painting were the main attractions for women. A number of stalls displayed handcrafted items from NWFP like dazzling dresses, intricately woven carpets, handmade shoes, handbags, bedcovers and home accessories. A live musical performance of folk artists and rural musicians was also a part of the visit programme.

Mrs Becky Gates, the spouse of the visiting US defence secretary, along with her entourage visited Lok Virsa. She lauded as reported by news papers Lok Virsa’s efforts to document and preserve the indigenous folk culture of Pakistan through three-dimensional cultural displays.

Lok Visra authorities says that Lok Virsa being a federal cultural body, would continue to help, assist and support all provincial, regional and local associations, NGOs and community based organisations to document, preserve and disseminate various components of their tangible and intangible culture and folklore.

Fire brigade and rescue javans Islamabad showed that they are capable of controlling such situations by their quick action which held some days ago at Aabpara market Islamabad when suddenly people rushed towards the main market because they saw a cloud of heavy smoke at that side. Maritime Surveillance Aircraft for Pakistan

Lockheed Martin Delivers 2 of 7 Upgraded P-3C Maritime Surveillance Aircraft
for use by Islamic Republic of Pakistan

American security company Lockheed Martin has recently delivered two of seven upgraded P-3C maritime surveillance aircraft for Pakistan under the U.S. Government’s Foreign Military Sales program.The most recent aircraft delivery occurred on Jan 7 to the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, Florida, for subsequent transfer to Pakistan. Lockheed Martin delivered the first plane in October 2009, the company said Thursday.

The aircraft support anti-ship and anti-submarine warfare missions and will enhance Pakistan’s ability to conduct maritime surveillance in littoral and deep-water environments. The aircraft are designed to have a single integrated tactical picture of the battle space, drawing upon data from aircraft sensors and information from other platforms.

‘These aircraft incorporate a variety of enhanced features including communications, electro-optic and infrared systems, data management, controls and displays, mission computers and acoustic processing,’ said Mike Fralen, director for Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Sensors’ maritime surveillance programs. Tribute to the People of love, peace and harmony

Sufi saints have contributed a lot towards creating a message of love, peace and harmony in the subcontinent. Now there is a need to project their message effectively to acquaint the younger generation with their valuable contributions in the real sense.

In this context, Lok Virsa has dedicated a spacious hall, named as the ‘Hall of Sufis & Shrines,’ within its popular living cultural museum — the Heritage Museum at Shakarparian — to depict and portray contributions and messages of the great sufi saints. The display offers beautiful architecture with extremely artistic intricate mirror work alongside a pigeons’ landmark, which looks as real as one can see at the shrines.

The word ‘sufi’ is derived from Arabic word ‘safa’ meaning purity. Sufism is a mystic tradition encompassing a diverse range of beliefs and practices. This mystic sufi tradition has existed in all parts of Pakistan and is a binding force that brings people of diverse cultures together. The saints whose shrines dot the landscape are the meeting place of the masses — the rich and the poor, the rulers and the ruled — serve as a humanism force in society at both cultural and spiritual levels.

The sufi saints who came to the subcontinent in large numbers played the most important part in spreading Islam all over the region, preserving the religion’s inner spirit and converting a large mass into Muslims. They were indeed the men of high moral characters, who stood side by side with the poor masses in all trails and tribulations of time.

Like other Islamic movements, sufism traces its origin to the Holy Qur’aan and the Hadith. In order to keep sufism within the discipline of Islam, the sufis organised themselves into ‘silsilas’ or orders. The most important and well known among them are ‘Qadriah’, founded by Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani; ‘Naqshbandiah’, called after Khawaja Bahauddin Naqshbandi; ‘Chishtiah’, founded by Khawaja Abul Ishaq Shami; and ‘Soharwardiah’, founded by Sheikh Bahauddin Zakaria.

In the part representing the land of the sufi saints, there are life-size statues of musicians in performing postures, singing renditions of sufi saints like Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai and Sachal Sarmast. Outstanding Sindhi folk artiste and performer Allan Faqir is also among them. Punjab describes pictures of the shrines of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh, Shah Rukne Alam and Sheikh Bahauddin Zakaria. Malangs and faqirs, who form an integral part of shrines, are also seen, paying rich tributes to the sufi saints.

‘Dali’, an ornamented boat-like monument specially created to express tributes to the famous saint belonging to the capital territory known as Hazrat Barri Imam by his spiritual followers during the annual ‘urs’ celebrations, is also depicted in the display.

82nd birthday anniversary of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto

Zulfikar Ali Bhuttowas a politician who served as the President of Pakistan from 1971 to 1973 and as Prime Minister from 1973 to 1977. He was the founder of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP). The leaders and activists of (PPP) across the Country celebrated the 82nd birthday anniversary on Tuesday with utmost simplicity. Party activists held Quran Khwani and distributed food among the poor.

Several provincial ministers, senators, MPAs and PPP’s central and provincial leaders and a large numbers of workers and supporters of the party visited the mausoleum of Bhuttos at Garhi Khuda Bux (Larkana) and offered fateha and laid floral wreaths on the graves of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

Pakistani scientist has successfully invented a nano catalyst for production of bio-diesel with the help of spent tea for the first time in the world, opening up new avenues for alternative environment-friendly energy resources.

Dr. Syed Tajamul Hussain, a nano scientist working at National Centre for Physics (NCP), and his research team members after untiring efforts during last one year proved with their laboratory tests that used tea can be utilised to produce bio-diesel almost free of carbon emission on commercial basis. The results of their research is going to be published in world reputed Journal of Bio-Technology in its January 2010 issue.

According to the data bio-diesel generally refers to a vegetable oil- or animal fat-based diesel fuel consisting of long-chain alkyl (methyl propyl) or ethyl esters. Bio-diesel is typically made by chemically reacting lipids (e.g. vegetable oil, animal fat with an alcohol. Bio-diesel is meant to be used in standard diesel engines and is thus distinct from the vegetable and waste oils to fuel converted diesel engines. Bio-diesel can be used alone, or blended with petro-diesel.

In an interview with ‘The News’ Syed Tajamul Hussain said Pakistan is the third largest importer of tea after UK and China as it is spending $8.8 million annually for import of tea.

“The nano particles help produce 560 ml of bio-diesel from one kilogramme of used tea and if the process is carried out on commercial basis it can be a giant step towards production of alternative energy resources in the country,” he said. He said there is a global ban on production of bio-diesel with the use of edible products so they started research work on spent tea and finally they succeeded in their endeavours to use this non-edible product to prepare bio-diesel.

Tajamul Hussain said the newly invented technology can be used on commercial basis after establishment of pilot plant at the initial stage to get first hand practical experience at comparatively low capital. He said emission of carbon has become one of the grave concerns in the modern world so they tried their best to invent any new process that ensures production of bio-diesel without any chance of carbon emission. Eye on the Sky: Pakistan's first Saab-2000 (AEW&C) Aircraft

Pakistan Air Force inducted the first Saab-2000 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft into its fleet at a simple and dignified ceremony held at PAF Base Minhas here on Tuesday.

The ceremony of formal induction of Swedish Saab -2000 Awacs aircraft meant for aerial surveillance in the Pakistan Air Force at PAF base Kamra. Talking to media Air Chief said four-aircraft deal for Saab-2000 worth $866 million have been signed and Pakistan would get 3 more Saab jets from Sweden by 2011. He said 4 more Saab jets acquired from China would also be inducted in the fleet by 2011.

Induction of this system is part of the overall PAF strategy of transforming itself into a lean and technologically advanced air forces. With the induction of the Saab-2000 AEW&C, PAF becomes one of the few air forces in the world to have an Airborne Early Warning and Control capability & became the second country in the region to have inducted the sophisticated surveillance aircraft in its air force.

Saab 2000 aircraft is fitted with the latest technology to detect aircraft flying at high and medium altitudes. With state-of-the-art system, it is also capable of detecting objects flying at lower levels over land and sea at extended ranges. The system is also capable of detecting surface targets over sea. Erieye system provides 300 degree coverage and has an effective detection range of only 300 km to 350 km. It uses a pulse Doppler radar with a fixed, wedge-shaped antenna. Read More

Muharram rituals were almost peacefully observed in other parts of the country because of the tight security arrangements, the target was chosen to exploit the situation in the city so it might be given a sectarian color, but people of Pakistan have become of are very mature, they understand the motives of those attacks, people around Pakistan showed deep resentment over the brutal killings of innocent people in the suicide attack and condemned the riots. I see a very mature response from all the political parties and from all the sectarian leadership. That's a very good sign despite all the panic around.

DG ISPR told Tuesday that conducting any operation inside Pakistan borders was the right of only Pakistan armed forces rather than some one else. "There is no substance in the report of British newspaper, he added.

Pakistan stance with respect to launching any operation against the terrorists inside its territory had remained very clear that country’s forces had full potential to carry out any effective operation against the militants and it was mandate of only Pakistan security forces to conduct any operation on Pakistani side of Pak-Afghan borders, " he Said

27th death anniversary of A National Hero.

Creator of the National Anthem of Pakistan

Hafeez Jalandhuri was a great writer, poet and above all creator of the National Anthem of Pakistan. He was born on January 14, 1900. Hafeez Jullandhuri actively participated in Pakistan Movement after partition in 1947 he moved to Lahore. He wrote many patriotic songs. His monumental work of poetry, Shahnam-e-Islam, gave him incredible fame.His poetry generally deals with romantic, religious, patriotic and natural themes. He was awarded with the most prestigious awards of Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Pride of Performance. He died on December 21, 1982 at the age of 82 years. He was buried in Lahore.

PAF has formally joined the rank of developed Air Forces.

Aircraft tanker for aerial fueling has arrived in
Pakistan at Air Force base, the PAF sources saying Saturday.

The first Air-to-Air Refueler aircraft of Pakistan Air Force out of total four has arrived on an operational Air Base of the country, a spokesman of PAF here Saturday said. In a press statement the spokesman said, the delivery of remaining three Refueler aircraft is planned to complete by mid-2010.

By virtue of its capability to refuel Air Defence aircraft in air, PAF’s overall potential in terms of its effectiveness to defend the airspace of Pakistan would be significantly enhanced, he added.

After attaining the facility, Pakistan Air Force has formally joined the rank of those developed air forces which have already the air refilling system.

An expert of the aviation industry welcomed this induction in PAF saying this is a force-multiplier ability as the strength of the existing number of fighter jets would atleast be doubled, straightaway according to APP

NRO is illegal & unconstitutional: Supreme Court

All political parties in Pakistan have welcomed
the supreme court verdict, saying it's the victory of the people.

Chief Justice of Pakistan read out a unanimous verdict by the 17-member bench, saying the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) under which President Zardari and more than 8,000 people including the main opposition party PML(N), Politicians and civil servants had their cases closed without prosecution, is illegal and unconstitutional. He said that all cases suspended under the NRO would now revert back to their status as of October 5, 2007 when the controversial ordinance was issued.

Opposition leaders called upon the president to immediately resign after the ruling against the NRO he has no right to rule the country anymore, while Babar Awan, said that government would complete his five year term and rebuffed immediate calls from opposition that President Zardari resign.

Government will come under pressure to step down on moral grounds, though there are no signs that this is likely to happen.

Biggest bank robbery of Pakistan's history

In the biggest bank robbery in Pakistan’s history, foreign currency worth Rs 301 million was looted from the Allied Bank Limited (ABL)’s head office on II Chundrigar Road here on Sunday morning. Earlier, the looted amount was projected as being over Rs 500 million.

1279th Anniversary of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

Abdullah Shah Ghazi was the great grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. He is son of Muhammad (Nafsul Zakia) bin Abdullah bin Hasan Saani bin Hasan Ibne Ali Ibne Abu Talib, making him a member of the Ahl al-Bayt. His brother, Misry Shah, who is also buried along the coastline in Karachi, is also remembered as a saint.

Every year marks the Urs (festival) at the shrine for 3 days 20-22 Dhu al-Hijjah 12th month of the Islamic calendar), marking the anniversary of Abdullah Shah Ghazi. A famous myth about the mazar is that Karachi never had a tropical disaster in a thousand year because of the shrine's blessing.
